{My somewhat picky little foodie exploring the kitchen}
I’m such a food nerd. What other kind of person would be filled with such satisfaction browsing through food blogs, drooling over photos of food, and chuckling at the cook’s clever thoughts about things like Swiss chard, black beans, and crème fraiche?
A food nerd. That’s who.
Or maybe a glutton. But I refuse to fall into that category (and don’t ask me where the line between nerd and glutton falls…. That is a sensitive question.)
Joking aside, in case there are a few fellow frugal food nerds out there, looking for something to brighten up their icy, gray Friday (besides the fact we are a few short hours from the weekend), I present you with these little treasures from the last few weeks.
Just so you know I try to post only links to dishes I am willing to cook up in my own frugal kitchen – I might need to tweak a few ingredients, but I would still try them. So don’t be afraid of coming across the perfect dish, only to discover that it requires three tablespoons of a rare kind of oil that can only be imported by canoe from Tibet.
Don’t worry, because I can’t (won’t?) afford to rent that canoe either.
Chard & White Bean Stew from Smitten Kitchen
Turkey Broccoli Bake (comfort food…) from Eat Little, Eat Big
Black Bean Burritos (plus how to create vegetarian friendly meals!) from Simple Bites
Homemade Ranch Dressing (no weird ingredients – yay) from Frugal Granola
Spiced Cranberry Applesauce from Tammy’s Recipes
Cheers,

Sing it loud, sing it proud! I’m a nerd too!
What a cutie peaking out of the cupboard.
Thanks for the blog love, Steph.

Thanks for a few frugal recipes! I’m working on the meal plan for the next two weeks, and I’m feeling quite uninspired.
