Despite having a 7 person family and having family birthday parties throughout the year, I am sadly deficient in this area. For our last party, the best thing I did was to start making food 3 weeks ahead of time. Fortunately, I had a mostly empty freezer where I could store the food. We served chicken salad, corned beef, rolls, a green salad, mac and cheese plus appetizers. For dessert, I made a cake with butter cream icing and almond tea cakes. We had fruit salad on the side.
